Two Indian occupation soldiers and two alleged freedom fighters were killed in separate clashes in occupied Kashmir on Thursday, the anniversary of the day occupation forces arrived in the region in 1947, police said.

The two soldiers were killed in a roadside ambush by freedom fighters in Doda district in the early hours of Thursday, police said. In a separate incident, Indian troops shot dead two alleged freedom fighters in Baramulla district early Thursday, according to police.

Meanwhile, police said they had detained Kashmiri leader Javed Mir after he and a group marched to the small UN office in occupied Srinagar to protest the anniversary of Indian army deployment.
